SOURCE

SOURCE

Pink Sapphires are quite rare and found in limited locations around the globe. Most popular being Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Myanmar, Tanzania and East Africa.

COMPOSITION

COMPOSITION

Pink Sapphires belong to the family of Corundums with traces of chromium that lend it this color. The higher the chromium content the more intense the color; although too much coloration can turn it to red in which turns it to Ruby. Sometimes the red and pink can be caught in a place where it can get difficult to identify it as Ruby or Pink Sapphire. Violet tones result from traces of vanadium.
